LAS BROCHAS DE MAQUILLAJE, ESE MUNDO INFITO

Como todo, en el mundo del maquillaje y la estética, para gustos colores… Cada una utilizará lo que mejor le quede o con lo que mejor se apañe; Pero nunca está demás tener unas nociones básicas sobre lo que considero sería el primer capítulo de esta sección por excelencia: LAS BROCHAS. Esas fascinantes herramientas para conseguir un acabado impecable. Y digo fascinante, por que después de ver los tipos, formas, funciones y recomendaciones de lo que en principio parecía una tontería, es un mundo.

¡COMENZAMOS!


Según el material encontramos dos tipos: de pelo natural y de pelo sintético. Las brochas naturales, sirven para aplicar el producto en polvo (Base en polvo, colorete, polvos sueltos o compactos, sombra, etc.). En cambio, las brochas sintéticas se utilizan para aplicar el producto en crema (base de maquillaje, corrector, sombras fluidas), ya que contiene aceites y este material lo soporta mejor.
Como poder, podemos clasificar las brochas de varias formas: por material o por finalidad son las más comunes.

La elección de un set de brochas es muy personal, depende de los productos que se utilicen, de la maña que se tenga y de lo que nos guste a cada una.

Para el rostro hay gran variedad de brochas, vamos a ver algunas:

Para la base de maquillaje, vamos a utilizar siempre una brocha sintética. No muy grande, que sea ancha y plana y un poco flexible para que la aplicación del producto sea más fácil. Se puede aplicar la base con las manos o con esponjas para maquillaje. Lo malo de las esponjas es que aunque son muy manejables, absorben gran cantidad de producto y me parece un derroche. OJO: acostumbrada a maquillarse con la mano, echa poco maquillaje en la brocha, que se lía una... que parece que vas de carnaval!!




 

Para polvos sueltos o compactos, bronceadores y demás. Suele ser una brocha grande, de hecho debería ser la más grande entre nuestras brochas. De pelo natural, blanda, suave y tupida, para que se pueda manejar bien por todo el rostro. No tiene misterio, se utiliza sin más, por todo el rostro.

Para el corrector o concealer, es como una brocha para base fluida pero en pequeño. Plana, sintética y flexible, para cubrir con detalle ojeras e imperfecciones. Que no sea muy tiesa, que sino es más difícil de usar!!

Para el colorete o blush, de corte redondo y pelo natural, es igual que la de los polvos pero de menor tamaño. Yo uso la de Deliplus, que es perfecta y me encanta!!

Para contornear, es como la del colorete, o de tamaño un poco menor, pero con corte biselado, en diagonal. Esto facilita marcar el contorno del rostro, oscureciendo o iluminando distintas zonas para un maquillaje más profesional. Este es un mundo completamente nuevo para mi, me lo estudiaré y lo ‘postearé’ más adelante, a ver si sacamos algo en claro…

 

La Kabuki, es una brocha rechonchita, bajita y regordeta. Normalmente suave y tupida de manera que es muy manejable. Puede ser de pelo natural o sintético. La mía es de Deliplus, la brocha de bolso de pelo negro y base bronceada. Sirve para aplicar polvos sueltos o compactos, retirar exceso de maquillaje y dar un acabado más natural. Yo la uso para aplicar los polvos matificadores después de la base, así el maquillaje es más duradero y la imagen mucho más natural. Me gusta bastante el resultado que da esta brocha, hay que tener una!!

 
La Mofeta, la famosa favorita de isasaweis!! Es una brocha muy original, que aún no he probado ni tengo, pero de la que no pienso prescindir en el futuro. Es blanca y negra, siendo el pelo blanco de material sintético y el negro de pelo natural. Esta brocha tiene varios usos, base fluida, polvos, colorete, difuminado, cuya finalidad es dar al rostro un aspecto más uniforme y natural. Me la pido!!

En abanico, ese gran desconocido en forma de plumero… lo primero q piensas al verlo es ¿cómo uso yo esto? Pues bien, empiezo a leer en Internet, y lo primero que leo acerca de este peculiar instrumento es ‘abanico comadreja, pelo natural para barrer excesos’... ein??

Pues si, puede servir para colorete, iluminador, contorneado, pero su función principal, q si lo piensas, tiene bastante sentido, es retirar el exceso de maquillaje del rostro.

Ejemplo: te pintas los ojos y horror! polvitos de sombra en la parte superior del pómulo, pues saca el plumero y solucionado… otro, te echas colorete y uh!! Pintada cual puerta, pues ale, pilla la comadreja y arréglalo, nada de algodón, kleenex o mano, que ya tienes plumero profesional, de hecho, tienes una comadreja de lo más glamourosa. Me lo voy a plantear, solo por la originalidad del pincelito… ya os contaré.

Para los ojos, las brochas son infinitas, depende de lo que te quieras complicar. Todas las opciones son muy atractivas en este tipo de brochas:

Brocha básica para ojos, de corte redondo, es ancha y tupida. Cubre todo el párpado y es muy manejable. Las hay también de menos tamaño para más detalle en la aplicación de sombras. Es aconsejable tener una grande y una pequeña, ya que me parecen imprescindibles en nuestro set básico de brochas para sombras básicas o ahumados más sofisticados.

Para labios, en realidad hay una sola opción, preferiblemente sintética, acabada en punta la mayoría, sirve para aplicar la cantidad justa de producto en los labios. (No tengo paciencia para usarlo, lo intenté...)

Los sets de brochas, aunque golosos de comprar son bastante inútiles. No os creáis, yo soy la primera que cuando lo veo digo ‘lo quiero’, pero al final nunca me los compro, y mejor. Las brochas suelen ser muy parecidas y siempre te cuelan alguna que no sirve para nada o sale mala, así que mejor comprárselas sueltas según los gustos y necesidades de cada una y personalizarnos nuestros propios sets.

Añadir que las brochas se lavan, si. Yo no tenía ni idea, pero sino, ¿Qué haces? ¿Las tiras? Pues no, como muy bien explica isasaweis en sus videos, las brochas se lavan y es muy fácil de hacer, no tenemos más que dedicarles un rato a cada una y un poco de mimo a todas para que queden como nuevas. Agua, jabón neutro y paciencia es lo único que necesitas.

De momento, esto es todo lo que puedo decir de las brochas de maquillaje, que no es poco. MAKE-UP BRUSHES, THAT INFINITE WORDL

Like everything, in makeup’s World, you will use what you feel comfortable with or what is easier for you. But is better for you to have a few basic notions of what I considered it will be the first chapter of this section ever: THE BRUSHES. Those amazing tools for getting an excellent finished in your look. And I said amazing because after seeing different kinds, shapes, characteristics and recommendations of what seem a simple subject, is just… a little more complex than I thought.

LET’S SEE!!

We can classify makeup brushes in two different ways: for its material or its function.

In material, we differentiate two kinds of brushes: natural hair brushes and synthetic hair ones. We use natural brushes for apply powder products (Makeup base, blush, colour powder, eye shadows…). On the contrary, we use synthetic brushes for liquid or creamy products (foundation, concealer, fluid eye shadows), because they contained oils that can damage the natural ones.

The compositions of our brush-set is very personal, depends on what kind of products do we use, of what seem easier for us and what do we like the most.

For the face, there are plenty of brushes, now I’m going to show you some of them:

For the foundation, use always a synthetic brush. Not too big, but flat and wide and a little flexible for make the application easier. You can apply the product by hand or with a makeup sponge. I don’t like sponges because they absorb a lot of product and it is such a waste. BE CAREFUL: I used to apply it with my hands so when I first use the brush I put a lot of product on it. Use only a little; if not you will look like a clown!!

For concealer, is like the foundation brush but smaller. It’s flat, synthetic and flexible to cover better spots and imperfections. Don’t use a stiff brush because is too difficult to use!!

The powder brush. Is the biggest of our brush-set; with natural hair, soft and dense, to use it better across the face. It is simple; you use it for everywhere in your face.

The Blush brush; is round and natural, as the powder one but smaller. I use the Deliplus Blush brush (Mercadona Supermarket in Spain), because is perfect and I love it!! (You can see it in the photograph)

For the outline; is like the blush one but smaller too, is a bevel cut brush. This is useful for darkening or lightening different parts of the face to make your makeup more professional. This is a new world for me, I have to study what this brush can make and then I will tell you. I promise.

Kabuki brush. It is a chubby brush, small and thick; normally soft and dense makes it useful. It can be natural or synthetic. My Kabuki is from Deliplus. This brush is used to spread all kinds of powders and to have a natural look. I use it to apply neutral powder after foundation, so that the makeup is longer and natural. I like very much the result of this brush; you must get one!! 

Skunk brush. The famous Isasaweis favourites!! This brush is very curious. I don’t have it and I don’t prove it either, but I think I will buy one in the future. Is black and white, white hair is from synthetic material and black one it’s natural. You can use this brush for foundation, powder, blush, and shades to show a natural look. I want it!!

A fan brush, the great unknown with duster shape… your first thought when you see it is ‘how can I use this?’ Well, when I start reading about it on the Internet I read something like ‘weasel fan, natural hair for sweeping excesses’… and I thought sorry?

That’s right, you can use it for blush, powders, etc. but its principal function is correct the excesses of product.

For example, you makeup your eyes and OMG! Eye shadow in your cheeks, ok, no problem, you take your fan and solved… another case, you put blush in your cheeks and ooops! Like a clown, so, take up your weasel and solve it. No cotton, tissues or hands, now you have your duster, in fact, you have a glamorous weasel. I am going to think about it, because I like this fancy brush… I will tell you about it.

For eyes makeup, there are plenty of brushes, depend on what you want to do. All the options are attractive in this kind of brushes:

Basic brush for eyes; is round, wide and dense. It covers the entire eyelid and it is very manageable. There are also smaller brushes for adding details and shadows to your makeup. It is recommended to have a big and a small brush for eyes. They are essential in our basic brush set for basic eye shadows or sophisticated smoky eyes.

Sponge applier, some girls prefer this kind of brush, but besides of softened the shadows, they are no useful. Sponges expire so quickly, they get very dirty and you cannot wash them. You can also blur your eye shadows with a cotton swab. I don’t like sponge applier at all.

To blur, the brush is bevel or straight. It is essential to melt eye shadows if you use two or more colours. You get a prettier and more professional finished. Smudge has a before and after in my makeup, it’s amazing, if you haven’t try it yet, do it. Is very cool!

Precision for shadows, there are plenty of brushes with different shapes to help us getting a more precise makeup. The Eyeliner, the one for make the smoky eyes or just some details according to the shape and size of brushes. Normally they are small, natural or synthetic, bevel, straight or round… they give us a lot of opportunities to get a creative and professional makeup. 

Metal comb for eye lashes. Since I saw it, I am in love with it. You use it after applying your mascara for separate them and remove excesses. There are also mascara brushes you can buy separately and you can use it also for combing your eyebrows (but I use transparent mascara for that function). 

Double comb for eye lashes. On one side is a brush for eyebrows and the other is a plastic comb to separate lashes. I use it and I don’t like it, my poor lashes… 

For lips, actually there is one option, better a synthetic one, ends in tip for applying the product without excesses. (I have no patience for this, but I have tried it…) 

Brush sets are attractive to buy but not useful to have. I am the first one that when I saw one I want it, but I never bought it, and its better. The brushes of sets are practically the same and there is always some bad brush, so it’s better to buy it separately depending on what we need or like and create our personal set.

I only want to add that you can wash your brushes. I don’t now it before but if you don’t wash them, what you can do? Throw it away? Nonono, like isasaweis tells in her videos, you have to wash your brushes and it’s too easy to do; you only have to take some time for each one and take care to all of them and leave them as new. Water, neutral soap and patience are the only things you need.
