LAS SERIES SALEN A LA CALLE

Este fin de semana ha tenido lugar el III Festival de Series de Canal+, cuatro intensos días en el que hemos podido disfrutar gratuitamente de estrenos de series en exclusiva y de las nuevas temporadas de las series más punteras de nuestro tiempo, así como actividades de lo más variopintas como talleres de maquillaje y doblaje, entre otras.

Y es que por un fin de semana, los cines Proyecciones del centro de Madrid, cedían sus salas para proyectar a los serieadictos lo mejor de la TV. Con el lema de ‘Las series salen a la calle’ Madrid ha vivido un fin de semana divertido, desenfadado y diferente a coste cero.

Del 20 al 23 de Octubre, los cines congelaban su servicio de cartelera para dar paso a la programación de la pequeña pantalla por todo lo alto. Podéis ver el programa aquí.

Personalmente, asistí el jueves en primicia al estreno de Los Borgia, la serie europea más cara de la historia, con la presentación en exclusiva del primer capitulo aún no emitido en TV de la mano de Assupta Serna, una de las protagonistas.

De la serie en cuestión, sólo decir que la ambientación y fotografía están muy conseguidas. El argumento, de moral alegre, propia de la época y los personajes de los que narra la historia, además aporta una gran dosis de violencia, sexo y alguna oreja cortada. Por mi parte, dudo mucho que sea una serie que vaya a seguir pero asistir al estreno en el cine de una producción estéticamente tan espectacular ha merecido la pena.

El sábado, pude ver también en exclusiva dos nuevos estrenos. Aprovechando que era una maratón cinematográfica, aproveche para ver series que aún no están en cartelera, pero que pronto lo estarán.

En primer lugar, asistí al visionado de Person of Interest, emitían cuatro capítulos de los cuales vi dos. La serie de acción y aventura, cuenta la historia de un exagente especial del gobierno que tras dejar el trabajo a causa de una terrible pérdida es ahora un indigente que vaga ebrio por las calles. Es ‘reclutado’ por un curioso hombre, creador de una maquina que desvela los crímenes que atentan contra los habitantes de NY. Inicialmente, este sistema sólo recogía los crímenes relevantes contra el estado y  borraba los que consideraba ‘irrelevantes’ para la seguridad nacional al final de cada jornada.

El motivo por el que se recluta a este personaje, muerto para la sociedad, es salvar a esas personas que la máquina no considera importantes pero que forman parte del mundo que nos rodea. Como digo, es una serie entretenida, que se deja ver, a la que puedes aficionarte y trasportarte a un mundo original, cuanto menos, en el que dos hombrecillos son capaces de salvar a gran parte de la ciudad de NY.

Por último, y como broche de oro, el estreno de Revenge, que desveló una serie drama que tiene pinta de prometer bastante, y esperemos sea así y no decidan estropearlo en el último momento.

En un ámbito social de lo mejorcito de Los Hamptons, aterriza Emily Thorne, cuya verdadera identidad nadie conoce y que es más cercana de lo que todos creen. Emily, una atractiva jovencita con cara de buena chica, planea escrupulosamente una sonada venganza contra aquellos que le destrozaron la vida cuando era una niña.

Sin duda, me quedo con el lema que dice muy convencida ‘Esto no es una historia de perdón sino una historia de venganza’, lo cual se demuestra desde el primer minuto de la serie.

De los tres estrenos a los que he asistido, este es sin duda con el que me quedo. Una serie que espero ver y la única que consiguió que una vez finalizado el primer capítulo tuviera ganas de ver el siguiente. Habrá que esperar al estreno en TV y ver si Emily consigue concluir con éxito la fría venganza que cuidadosamente ha preparado para sus enemigos.

Si el año que viene podemos disfrutar de la 4ª edición de este festival, os animo a todos a asistir a los estrenos de series y temporadas y participar en los talleres de esta iniciativa que me parece brillante y divertida. A mi me ha encantado y estoy deseando repetir!!

TV SERIES TAKE THE STREETS

This weekend has been the III Canal+ TV Series Festival, four intense days in which we could enjoy for free lots series premieres and episodes of new seasons. We had also participated in different workshops like the makeup or dubbing ones.

For a weekend, Proyecciones cinema, in the downtown, gave up their rooms to show the best of TV. With the slogan ‘Series take the streets’ Madrid had lived some funny, different and free days.

From 20 to 23 of October, the cinema froze its programme to show the one on TV. You can see the agenda here.

Personally, I saw the premiere of The Borgia on Thursday, the most expensive European production, exclusively the first episode presented by Assumpta Serna, one of the main characters on the film.

About the film, scenography and photography are brilliant. The plot, with no moral, as it used to be in that era and with those historic characters have high levels of violence, sex and some blood too. I don’t think I will watch it on TV, but see the premiere on cinema of this kind of series it is worthy.

On Saturday, I saw two different new series. Taking advantage of the cinematographic marathon, I watch a couple of series that are not on TV yet, but hope that they are soon.

On one hand, I attend to Person of Interest premiere. I saw two episodes of action and adventure. It tells the story of a government ex-agent that lives homeless in NY. One day he is recruited by a curious man. This man has created a machine that detected crimes against people of NY for National Security. At the beginning, the system keeps the crimes that are important for the NSA and erase the ‘irrelevant’ ones.

The creator wants that this ex-agent help him to save ‘irrelevant people’ to keep NY clean of premeditate crimes. It is an entertaining series that you can watch and follow to see if only two ‘little men’ are able to keep NY safer.

On the other hand, to end with the festival I saw the premiere of Revenge, a drama series that looks really good. I hope it will maintain like this until it ends.

In a high social community in The Hamptons, it shows up Emily Thorne. No one knows her true identity that is more obvious that they thought. Emily is a pretty young woman who is apparently nice, but that had planned detail-by-detail revenge against whose have destroyed her life when she was a kid.

With no doubt, I keep her main idea/slogan on mind ‘this is not a forgiveness story, this is a revenge story’.

Of these three series that I had seen this weekend, the last one is with no doubt which I preferred the most and which I am looking forward to watch on TV. When the first episode ended I would like to see the next one. We have to wait until it is shown on TV to see if Emily can have her revenge done and do their enemies pay for their acts.

If there is another edition of this festival I recommend you to go and enjoy this event of brilliant and funny workshops and premieres. Be sure I will be there!!

Sinopsis

Es una sitcom (comedia de situación) estadounidense que gira entorno a la vida de 6 personajes. Seis amigos que viven en Manhattan, jóvenes emancipados que comparten alegrías y penas en la ciudad de Nueva York.

Cada uno de ellos con personalidades muy distintas pero un factor común, la lealtad y solidaridad para con los otros que los convierte en una familia. Todos afrontan una serie de situaciones que se presentan en la serie de forma cómica, sin dejar de lado algunos matices dramáticos que hacen al espectador empatizar con cada uno de los personajes.

Los personajes

Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), niña rica y mimada que tras escapar de su boda con Barry antes de dar el ‘si quiero’ termina en el Central Perk acogida por Mónica y la pandilla, donde decide independizarse y acabar con su antigua vida. Rompe con su familia y se instala con Mónica, ganando un sueldo ínfimo como camarera del café.




Mónica Geller (Courtney Cox), maniática del orden y hostelera de profesión, es la hermana pequeña de Ross y mejor amiga de Rachel. Vive en la que era la casa de su abuela y ejerce siempre de orgullosa anfitriona acogiendo a sus amigos y cocinando para ellos.





Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow), excéntrica, original, empática y divertida. Es vegetariana y amante de los animales. Tuvo una infancia muy dura, al ser abandonada por su madre biológica y vivir el suicido de su madre adoptiva y encarcelación de su padre. Es masajista y canta en sus ratos libres, su autentica pasión. Su carácter alocado le da un toque de color a los problemas más sonados del grupo.



Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc), actor italo-americano en paro. Compañero de piso y mejor amigo de Chandler, se pasa el tiempo haciendo castings para posibles trabajos. De reacción lenta y amante de los bocadillos de albóndigas y la mermelada. Ligón y mujeriego con una especial conexión con Phoebe.



Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), el sarcástico del grupo, utiliza el humor como autodefensa, producto del divorcio de sus padres cuando el era un niño. Odia profundamente el día de Acción de Gracias. Mantiene a Joey gracias a su trabajo, aunque sus amigos se pasan la serie intentando averiguar en qué consiste ya que sólo saben que tiene que ver con datos.

 Ross Geller (David Schimmer), doctor en paleontología, hermano mayor de Mónica y enamorado desde la adolescencia de Rachel. Divorciado de una mujer lesbiana y con un hijo. Rachel y él mantienen una relación de altibajos durante el trascurso de la serie lo que da mucho juego en la trama del sitcom.

Tras diez temporadas sigo sin saber cuál es el personaje que más me gusta o quién es el más gracioso. Por supuesto, siempre se tienen favoritos, pero cada uno de ellos, durante la trama de la serie ha tenido momentos altos y bajos entre temporadas lo que hace la elección muy complicada.

Me confieso adicta a las series, así, sin más. Soy una de esas personas que ven series sin parar, una temporada tras otra. Series de las que me hablan mis amigos, mis hermanos o series de las que oigo hablar en los medios. Casi siempre en versión original y también alguna que otra en español.

Aunque es una elección muy compleja ya que la variedad es prácticamente infinita, si tuviera que elegir una serie entre todas las series, sería FRIENDS.

La he visto un millón de veces, y tiene el poder y el encanto de hacerme reír siempre que la veo. Me río y lloro en las mismas partes desde la primera vez. Al principio la veía en español, aunque también la he visto muchas veces en inglés. Es una de las pocas series que no pierde con el doblaje, y los personajes siguen teniendo ‘el toque’ incluso traducidos. (Pero sigo defendiendo la versión original a muerte).

La serie, que narra las aventuras de 6 amigos en la gran manzana, toca temas de actualidad y preocupaciones de los jóvenes que viven y trabajan por su cuenta. La amistad, el matrimonio, la paternidad, el paro, la fidelidad, la familia… son temas que de forma más o menos trascendentes te implican con los personajes y hacen que puedas identificarte con las situaciones que viven.

Diez años en los que claramente se ve la evolución de los personajes sin perder su esencia, cambiando acorde con los tiempos, la moda y los temas de actualidad. Diez años de éxitos con un reparto brillante que no ha perdido jamás la capacidad de hacer reír al público y mantenerlo fiel a la pantalla.

Synopsis

Is a USA sitcom that tells a 6 characters story. They are six friends living in Manhattan; emancipated youth who share joys and pains in New York City.

All of them with very different personalities but a common factor, their loyalty with each other that make them a family. All of them face difficult situations in a comic way, without leaving some dramatic slights that make the viewer empathize with each character.

Characters

Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston) is a rich and spoil girl who has escaped of her own wedding with Barry before the ‘yes I do’ part. She goes to the Central Perk where Monica and the band are hanging out. She decides to be independent and ends with her old life.

She brakes with her family and go to live with Monica, with a minimum salary as waitress.

Monica Geller (Courtney Cox) is compulsively tidy and lives as a cookery. Is Ross’ little sister and Rachel’s best friend. She lives in her grandma’s house and is always the best hostess inviting her friends and cooking for them.

Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow), eccentric, original, empathetic and funny. She is a vegetarian and an animal lover. She had a very tough childhood abandoned by her biological mother and living her stepmother suicide and her father going to jail. She is a masseuse and loves to sing and play guitar. Her wild personality gives colour to the most dramatic problems of the band.

Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc), Italian-American actor with no job at all, so he goes to every casting in Town. He is Chandler’s roommate. He loves meat sandwiches and jam. Cheeky and womanizer, he has a special connexion with phoebe.

Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) is the group sarcastic member. He uses humour for self-defence, learnt when his parents divorced long time ago. He hates Thanksgiving. He support Joey with his job, no one knows exactly what he does, only that is related with data.

Ross Geller (David Schimmer), he is a palaeontology doctor. Monica’s big brother and in love with Rachel since he was a teenager. He is divorced of a lesbian, mother of his child. He and Rachel have a complicated relationship that gives the sitcom an interesting plot.

After ten seasons I still don’t know which is my favourite character or the funniest one. Of course, we always have a favourite, but all of them, during the plot have ups and downs depending on the season, so that the choice it’s too difficult.

I confess myself a TV series addict, no lying. I am one of those who watch one after another, season by season. Series which my friends told me or that I know trough the media. I usually see them in original version but a few in Spanish either.

Although it is a very complicated choice because there are lots and lots, if I have to choose only one, with no doubt FRIENDS would be my favourite.

I saw it like a million times and it has the ability to make me laugh every time I watch it. I laugh and cry always in the same parts since I saw it for the first time. Firstly I watched it in Spanish but I have watched it in English too. It is one of the few series that haven’t loose with the dubbing, and characters are still charming. (But I still defending VO to death)

The sitcom, that tells the adventures of 6 characters in the City, is about present issues and youth worries that have everyone who live and work by themselves. Matters like friendship, marriage, workless, loyalty, and family.

Ten years in which we have seen clearly how characters evolved with all their essence, changing according to the years, fashion and present issues. Ten years of success with a brilliant cast that have never lost the ability of making the public laugh and cry and stay loyal to the screen.
