Londres es mi ciudad, sus calles,
sus tiendas, sus museos, sus cafeterías y el ritmo frenético de la ciudad me
engancharon en seguida. Podría decirse que fue un flechazo a primera vista.
Aunque he ido muchas veces, siempre me da rabia volver a casa, y no pasa un
solo día en que no piense en pisar de nuevo las concurridas calles de la capital
británica. En ir un día y quedarme…

De fin de semana
SÁBADO
Portobello Market, es mejor ir por la mañana que hay más cosas. Es un paseo con mucho encanto. Hay antigüedades, buena fruta y verdura además curiosidades varias como en todo mercadillo… A ambos lados de la calle hay algunas tiendas muy chulas. METRO: Nothing Hill Gate (salida Portobello Market).
Coven Garden, es algo más caro pero muy bonito. Los sábados por la mañana suele haber bastante jaleo. De vez en cuando hay músicos callejeros tocando y puedes descubrir grandes talentos. METRO: Coven Garden, Piccadilly Line (Azul oscuro).
DOMINGO
No os perdáis una tienda que se
llama Ciberdog no doy más pistas porque hay que verla... Cara e
imposible pero de verdad que vale la pena entrar.
El Green Market no es
gran cosa, mejor seguir de frente viendo tiendas y puestos hasta llagar a un
puente de piedra un poco antes del Camden Lock, desde allí puedes entrar a las
profundidades de Candem a cotillear que se cuece. METRO: Camden Town. Northern
Line (negra). OJO!! La parada de metro Candem cierra de 5 a 6, en
plena pick hour porque es un caos! hay que ir andar hasta la siguiente parada (Mornington
Crescent) que es un tramo importante y hay que estar pendiente del camino que
es algo complicado.
Hyde Park es un paseo precioso y con espectáculo asegurado los domingos por la mañana, imprescindible echar un vistazo al Speaker’s Corner. Hay gente que habla, da discursos, grita y alguno hasta regala abrazos… METRO: Marble Arch, Central Line (Roja)
Hay que tener en cuenta que salir
por Londres es caro pero más aún el fin de semana.

of London
Dentro están las joyas de la
corona, armas, armaduras de Enrique VIII y de sus caballos, la verdad es que es
impresionante y divertido. El patio es precioso, hay un césped súper verde y un
montón de cuervos. Hay que pagar entrada, algo cara pero la visita vale la pena
hacer la visita.

Plaza que conmemora la victoria de
la batalla de Trafalgar. Hay 4 leones de gran tamaño y la columna en el centro,
la columna de Nelson. Detrás está la National Gallery.

Donde se casó Diana de Gales con
el príncipe Carlos. Por fuera es muy bonita y aunque no he entrado creo que por
dentro también (hay que pagar para entrar).

Junto con Hyde Park es el mejor
parque, el lago es precioso y está lleno de patos. Para pasear es genial y
enorme!! Las tumbonas hay que pagarlas, (dan muchas ganas de apalancarse
pero según te sientas vienen a cobrarte), pero en el césped si hace
sol con un libro o un poco de música se está fenomenal.

Carnaby street
En invierno si ya han encendido
las luces de Navidad, es una calle muy pequeña pero todo un espectáculo verla
de noche y el paseo por la zona es muy entretenido.

iluminado no os lo podéis perder!! Es una foto típica!! Si no tienes una foto
en Picadilly cuando vuelvas de Londres es como si no hubieras estado!

Al lado de St James Park, para
verlo por fuera y el patio. Ahí es donde se ve el cambio de guardia, que no
siempre tiene el mismo horario ni es todos los días, así que preguntad o
miradlo en Internet. El parque también es un paseo precioso, en otoño es
espectacular.
METROS: Desde Victoria station
(Circle Line, amarilla o District Line, verde) es un
paseo muy bonito porque de camino tienes la Westminster Abbey con su patio y el Big Ben o St James Park (Circle Line, amarilla o
District Line, verde) que está más cerca y atraviesas el parque.

Es enorme y muy bonito. Hay más de
Egipto ahí que en el propio Egipto. Allí está la piedra Roseta y más cosas
históricamente fascinantes. Es uno de los museos que sin duda valen la pena junto con el
de Historia Natural (el del Dinosaurio).

A mi es un museo que me encanta,
sobre todo para ver la pintura impresionista. También hay mucha pintura clásica
y figurativa, pero mucha mucha. Yo fui directamente al Impresionismo y al
Postimpresionismo de paseito rápido. Lo mejor, coger el plano en la entrada y
hacer criba porque sino es mucho museo. La tienda tiene cosas muy chulas
(puzzles, imanes, libros, libretas...). Ojo con las exposiciones temporales,
algunas son muy chulas y vale la pena verlas aunque haya que pagar por ellas.

TATE Britain
Museo 100% británico. Turner es un
fijo, con esos paisajes marítimos y grises propios del continente. No es
imprescindible la visita si es tu primera vez en Londres.
Es el museo de cera, a mi me da
muy mal rollo ver a personas de cera, pero es uno de los museos más importantes
de Europa. Creo que es caro. Como curiosidad, está en frente de la Universidad
de Westminster, donde hice yo el Erasmus. Que tiempos!!

muy chulo el mercado, la parte donde está la comida. A veces te dan a probar
algo de chocolate, pero no siempre.

Selfridges
Está en Oxford Street, es el
centro comercial más lujoso y caro, pero tiene unos escaparates preciosos,
grandes y muy originales.
Lonc¡dres es una ciudad que te gusta mucho o nada, no hay
termino medio. Para mi es la ciudad entre las ciudades, perfecta para pasear y
desconectar, dejarte seducir por sus calles, comercios y peculiares personajes
que te puedes encontrar a cualquier hora. Estoy deseando volver pronto!!

The
weekend
SATURDAY
Portobello
Market, it's perfect for Saturday mornings. It is a lovely
walk. There are lots of antiques, good fruit and vegetables, and of course
plenty of curiosities as in every street-market. There are many shops around
the market that are very cool. METRO: Nothing Hill Gate (Portobello Market).
Coven
Garden, is more expensive but very pretty. On Saturday there
is plenty of fun. You can discover some new street musicians with huge
talent. METRO: Coven Garden, Piccadilly Line (Dark blue).
SUNDAY
Camden
Town, for me is the best plan on Sundays, also in the
morning like Portobello’s, but you should probably stay there most part of
the day. You can eat dishes from around the world, buy lots of exciting things. It’s a very cool market!
Do
not miss Ciberdog shop, I can’t say anything
else, you have to enter and see it… It is very expensive and such as impossible
but it is worthy to have a look around.
The Green
Market is not worthy at all, it is better to go to the main
part of the market itself near the Camden Lock, there you can access the best
part and see what is going on there. METRO:
Camden Town; Northern Line (black). WATCH
OUT! Camden station is closed between 5 and 6 pm (pick hour), so that you have
to walk to the next stop Mornington Crescent, it
is such a walk and you have to be careful not get lost in the meanwhile.
Hyde
Park it's beautiful. It has show included. On Sunday morning
it is a must to go to the Speaker’s Corner. There are people who talk, discuss,
shout or even gives you a free hug… METRO: Marble Arch, Central Line (Red).
Going
out in London is very expensive especially on weekends.

interesting and funny visit. The patio is beautiful; it has very green grass and
lots of crows. You have to pay for visiting the tower but it is so worthy.

Trafalgar
Square
It
commemorates the victory of Trafalgar’s battle. There are 4 huge lions and the
Nelson’s column. Behind this you can see the National Gallery.

Regent’s
Park
This and Regent's Park are my favourites. Hide Park is huge; The lake is very pretty and is full of
ducks. It is perfect for a walk. You have to pay for using a
hammock, so if you lie on them someone would come to sell you a ticket so you can use them. But the great plan in a sunny day is to sit on the grass and read a
book or listening to music, just wonderful!

Carnaby Street
Do not miss it on Christmas if the lights are ready, it is a tiny but spectacular street. It is a great walk for the evening. METRO:

Buckingham Palace
Near to St. James Park, you can see the outdoors. You can also see
the Changing of the Guard; it has a schedule, ask before going because it is not always at the same hour. The
park is amazing especially in autumn.

It’s huge and amazing. There are lots of Egyptian relics. Here is the
Rosetta stone and lots of ancient things that are part of the world history. It is one of the
most interesting museums in London with the Natural History Museum (the huge
dinosaur one), my favourite.

I love this museum, specially the Impressionist paintings. There is also
classic and figurative painting, but lots and lots. I usually go straight to
impressionists and postimpressionist to a rush walk. The best way to see it is
to grab a map and choose what you do like to see the most. The gift shop is
cool (jigsaws, magnets, books, notebooks…). Look carefully if there are short
exhibitions, sometimes there are great and even though you have to pay for some
of them, but they are worthy.

TATE Britain
100% British museum; It has a lot of Turner Works, with maritime and
grey landscapes according to British weather. If it is your first time in London
this is not a must.
Madame Tussauds
This is the wax museum, I don’t like this kind of museum, it scares me a
lot, but it’s the most famous museum in Europe. I think is a bit expensive. It
is in front of University of Westminster (my exchange University).

It is so cool and it has a huge dinosaur in the hall! You do have to go
and see it; it is a very funny place and the gift shop is amazing. It’s full of

London is the typical town that you love or hate, but you can’t be
indifferent. For me is THE town, perfect walking and relaxing. For
let the streets seduce you; its shops, its coffees, its people... I can not
wait to be back soon.
